🎨🏀KU baseball is having such a moment right now that I felt inspired to create a drawing celebrating the energy around the program this season. The artwork features Big Jay hitting a home run inside Hoglund Ballpark, surrounded by details that make KU and Lawrence feel special: including the Potter Lake bridge, Fraser Hall, the Campanile, Allen Fieldhouse rising behind the ballpark, dorms overlooking the stadium, and KU cut into the grass. I also incorporated waving wheat beneath Jay’s iconic yellow boots but with cleats, baseball stitching swirling to create movement throughout the piece, packed stadium crowds, a sunflower, Rock Chalk lettering, vintage baseball elements like an old ticket stub. I wanted the drawing to feel nostalgic, energetic, and unmistakably Kansas while capturing the excitement surrounding KU baseball right now. 🔵🔴💛
